Bamberg Ancient Roof Artistry
Freehand pen and ink sketch of the Theater der Schatten (Shadow Theatre) in Bamberg in Germany. Bamberg sits on the Main River which links the Danube and Rhine. The theater is part of the Alte Hofhaltung (Old Court). While wandering across the bridges at the Alt Rathaus (Old Town Hall) in the old part of Bamberg, one marvels at the beautifully coloured murals, and the ornate and lofty tower. Close by, terracotta shingles and tiles cover an amazing roof geometry of this old stone and wood building. Ink on 300 gsm medium Arches paper. 14.9 cm high by 21 cm wide by 0.1 cm deep approximately. A4 standard size.
