Guaita Fortress San Marino
The Guaita Fortress sits atop Monte Titano in the tiny city state of San Marino. This view of a path to the peak looks down through a haze to the plains of north-eastern Italy. According to Wikipedia, the independent state of San Marino has an area of just 61 square kilometres and a population of some 33,650. Guaita Tower stands at 750 metres above sea level and is one of three fortress towers in San Marino. This is an oil painting by Dai Wynn after a trip he made to this microstate.
