Cascade Mountain Banff Alberta

Oil painting on stretched canvas by Dai Wynn. This view of Cascade Mountain above Banff, Alberta, Canada was painted several years ago after a trip on the famous Rocky Mountaineer train beginning in Vancouver.   While I presume that the built environment has changed very little since then, the vehicles depicted here will have all modernised.

This area of Canada is an absolute gem of spectacular scenery.  The Bow River, Lake Louise, Sulphur Mountain, Johnston Canyon and Highway 93 towards Jasper.  Unfortunately, when I visited Lake Louise it was not the postcard blue with a background of white mountains, but icy white.
