Description
Nature never ceases to amaze. Here in Mill Park, a northern suburb of Melbourne, Australia, is a very old fallen tree. Probably a river red gum of which there are many in this area. Instead of falling due to advanced age, or possibly a wind storm, then lying there to disintegrate, providing habitat to insects and small animals, this tree has reinvented itself. In typical fashion, the branches are beautifully curved as though they have been sculpted. Finally, there is colour from orange to brown and blue in the trunk and limbs. Just wonderful.
Oils on canvas on board. 40.6cmX 30.5cm X 0.5cm.
