Peggy Guggenheim Garden

Description

This is a depiction of the sculpture garden of the Peggy Guggenheim Gallery and Museum on the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy.

While not a major art gallery in its own right, it has a very cozy garden filled with sculpture and an absolutely stunning outlook onto the busy Grand Canal.  I try to imagine the wealthy Peggy Guggenheim living in this grandiose residence and commuting by motor launch from her own wharf.  Her property is a short walk from the magnificent Santa Maria della Salute basilica at the tip of the promontory where the Grand Canal meets the lagoon.
