River Seine Paris Evening

Description

An evening view of the Bras de la Monnaie (the money arm) of the River Seine beside the Ile de la Cite in Paris. The viewer looks from Pont Neuf (New Bridge) with Pont de Saint Michel (St Michel’s Bridge) in the distance. The keen-eyed viewer will notice the huge fabric curtain covering the Parquet du Tribunal de Grande Instance (main courthouse). Colourful wrapping adorned many of the iconic buildings in Paris, undergoing renovation in October 2023. Notre Dame Cathedral lies behind the courthouse tower at left. I have not painted the absolutely huge tower crane above the cathedral.
