Description
In Spring time the wattle/mimosa/acacia blooms in bright lemon yellow colours along the banks of Darebin Creek in Melbourne’s north east. The wattle perfume pervades the cycling and walking paths beside the waterway and the blossoms gleam in the morning sunshine.
It is sheer pleasure to walk beside the bubbling stream lined with wattles and eucalypts not far from my studio. The waterway takes on different characters according to rainfall upstream.
Painting by Dai Wynn in oils on canvas on composite board. 40.6cm high by 30.5cm wide by 0.5cm deep.
