Yarra River Autumn Morning

Yarra at Ivanhoe in Autumn
The absolutely tranquil scene is of a bend of the Yarra (Birrarung) River at Ivanhoe, east of Melbourne. The “ringing” of bell birds filled the clean, cool, morning air. I took several photographs during an early morning walk yesterday, and painted this image in the afternoon. Not quite “plein air”, but close. Australia’s native trees are generally evergreen, but the range of foliage colours throughout the seasons continually amazes me.
